Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh (BCOLBD) is a prominent annual event dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in blockchain technology among students and professionals. Since its inception in March 2020, BCOLBD has successfully organized multiple editions, with the third edition held in May 2022. The competition features various categories, including Business Case Competition, Training & Workshop, and Conference & Hackathon, providing participants with opportunities to showcase their skills and collaborate on groundbreaking projects.
In the 5th Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh 2024, the team "Chain Reaction" from United International University (UIU) clinched the Gold Award. The competition commenced on June 7, 2024, attracting over 200 teams from 120 universities nationwide. After rigorous preliminary rounds, 30 teams advanced to the finals held on September 3-4, 2024, where "Chain Reaction" emerged victorious, earning the Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury Championship Award. This achievement not only highlights the team's exceptional talent but also underscores UIU's growing prominence in blockchain technology.

Furthermore, the Bangladesh team "Apocalypse" secured the gold medal at the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) 2023 held in Amsterdam. Their project, 'IPBlockchainPro,' aims to revolutionize the management and protection of intellectual property for innovators and SMEs, showcasing Bangladesh's potential in global blockchain innovation.
